Our initial introduction to "Tai Chi Women" - A feature documentary film.

All around the world are women who love Tai Chi and martial arts. They are women from different cultures, and of all ages, social status and ethnicities. They have different life situations yet share common struggles that come with being female in the modern world. Despite what differentiates them, they are unified in how they face their challenges, large and small, with power and grace through Tai Chi.
Tai Chi Women is a developing film celebrating a range of Tai Chi practitioners who fearlessly share their stories, their love, their desires, their pain, their humor, their joy, and their hope. Their stories are intimate and untold, and illustrate how an often misunderstood martial art fosters deep strength in people who aren't typically thought of as strong.
This film is a passion project inspired by a master’s Tai Chi journey, and the many women who have practiced, taught, and trained with her for more than 25 years. The stories featured in Tai Chi Women provide a rare look into the unique relationship that women world wide have with this ancient art, and will inspire future generations to practice Tai Chi for courage, health, and world peace.

Director's statement
Tai Chi is my life’s passion, and making this documentary film about women and Tai Chi is the next step in a meaningful journey towards expressing my love, and inspiring achievement in others.
Following the success of my first documentary film "Tai Chi Club", I am driven to look more deeply at a subject not often talked about in the martial arts world: the unique relationship that women have had with Tai Chi for centuries. This relationship is dear to me and important to reveal to others. My desire is to focus on an underrepresented people and practice that haven’t been given the clarity and attention they deserve.
Film making is a challenging journey that I walk one step at a time, and I truly believe there is a bright future for my second documentary film Tai Chi Women. Working with a dedicated team of expert Tai Chi practitioners and documentary film makers, Tai Chi Women is scheduled to be released in the fall of 2022.
I look forward to hearing from those of you who have stories to share and other forms of support to contribute. Here’s to a new adventure!
